Lucy Nehrenz Honored
October Open House Remembers Lucy

Lucy Nehrenz died in September at the age of 104! She and her husband had contributed many items to the Dean House.

HBGHS honored Lucy during the October Second Sunday Open House. About 40 people attended including several of her out of town relatives, co-workers from Research Products and neighbors from Meadow Grove and Angelus Apartments where she had lived.

Lucy's wedding dress, shoes and crystal neckless along with a portrait of Percy & Lucy on their wedding day are on temporary display in the parlor.

The Board has voted to name the formal parlor the Nehrenz Parlor in honor of Percy & Lucy who donated the parlor furniture. Stop in and see them during the Christmas Open House on Dec. 13th.

Volume 37, No. 2          November, 2009
Christmas Open House December 13

Harp music and Santa's sleigh will be featured during our annual Christmas Open House from 1-4 pm on Sunday December 13th.

Cheryl Saltzman and one of her students will play Christmas music on their harps while you tour the Dean House and enjoy refreshments.

Santa's sleigh will be on the Back Porch filled with presents waiting to be delivered on Christmas eve.

Come to the Dean House, do a little shopping in our "store" and view the old fashioned Christmas decorations.

(Historic Madison Inc.'s 2010 calendar makes a good gift!)
